Laundry Fun

Posted on

via Hello Brit

Let’s face it, not many people actually like doing laundry but unless you’re a Jersey Shore cast member odds are that you have to do it. Even if you’re good at passing this chore off to someone else you might now think twice just for a chance to play with these snazzy (geek alert) gadgets and accessories.

  1. Tree Clothesline
  2. The Laundry Pod
  3. Laundry Art
  4. Ruffle Laundry Bag
  5. FlipFOLD Laundry Folder
  6. UnHampered
  7. Nellie’s Dryer Balls & Fragrance Stick Set
  8. Gal Pal Deodorant Removers
  9. FreshCloz Garment Deodorizer
  10. Sparrow Clothespins
  11. Graphic Washing Bin
  12. The Ultimate Drying Rack (il Lenzuoliere)

How do you add fun to your chores?  Do you pass them off or buy things to make you happy whilst doing them?

Kristen Wiig at the Oscars

Make-up by  Heba Thorisdottir

Foundation

To begin Thorisdottir used tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation in light, with tarte’s new airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush.

Blush

For dewy, sun-kissed cheeks, Thorisdottir applied tarte’s Maracuja blush & glow brightening luminizer and cheek tint in sunlight along the apples of Wiig’s cheeks, followed by a light dusting of tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour shimmering blush in buff.  The combination gave Wiig’s skin the perfect luminous finish.

Eye Shadow

Thorisdottir wanted to play up Wiig’s blue eyes with a mixture of bronze and gold shadows.  Thorisdottir started by covering Wiig’s lids with a soft wash of shimmering golden peach from tarte’s neutralEYES eye shadow palette volume II.  To add further definition, Thorisdottir applied tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in shimmering bronze along Wiig’s lash lines and into her creases.  Then Thorisdottir layered tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in slate in the center of Wiig’s lids to reflect light.

Eye Liner

Thorisdottir lined her eyes with multiplEYE lash enhancing liquid liner, drawing outward for a mini cat-eye.

Mascara

Thorisdottir finished Wiig’s eyes with two coats of tarte’s gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara.

Lips

To keep Wiig’s look soft, Thorisdottir filled in Wiig’s lips with tarte’s LipSurgence matte lip tint in exposed, then dabbed tarte’s maracuja divine shine lip gloss in glisten in the center of her lips for a touch of shine.

Additional Information

To create a soft glow, Thorisdottir dusted tarte’s new Amazon bronze body bronzer along Wiig’s décolletage, shoulders and down her arms.

Numbered Stenciled Mugs

via  The 36th Avenue

What You’ll Need

  1. Mugs
  2. DecoArt CeramicsPaint (Gloss Enamels for Ceramics)
  3. Flat Brush
  4. Vinyl Stencils

Tutorial

  • Clean all mugs to be stenciled and let dry completely (follow directions on CeramicsPaint label)
  • Make sure the shape of your lettering is flat (the stencil will wrinkle a bit due to the shape of the mug)
  • Add tape around the edge
  • Paint the stencil by using taps, not side to side or up and down motions (once coat should do)
  • Remove the stencil as soon as you’re done painting
  • In case of the paint bleeding through, use a pin to clean up the design
  • Let air dry for an hour and put mugs in the oven for 30 minutes at  350º
Et voilà!

Home Tour

Currently drooling over ‘Callie’s Home Tour’ via Little Green Notebook.

Even better than the gorgeous pictures is how Callie decorated her home; through sales, free shipping and digging through Antique stores!  Needless to say that this was a work of love not just a desire to have a gorgeous home.  Through the usual suspect stores (eBay, Etsy, One Kings Lane) and some creative DIY‘s (custom cut mats, her own created artwork (!), discount fabric for curtains and repainted dressers/consoles) this is the outcome.  Creative, thoughtful and budget friendly, I’m in love!
